A Future Home for WNS

Same Community. A New Space. Our Forever Home is Coming Fall 2026.

Since our founding in 1980, WNS has always been future-focused, preparing students to thrive and lead in a future that will likely look different to the present day. But this year, more than ever at WNS, all eyes are on the future. We are on the precipice of a transformational change – a culmination of years of hard work to secure the school’s future.

2024 marked a significant milestone for our school as we proudly purchased our own building; an expansive, state-of-the-art 132,000 square-foot building sitting on 5 acres of land in Playa Vista that will cement the future of WNS forever.

While visually stunning, most importantly, the building is being meticulously engineered to create an optimal learning environment for children, taking into consideration such details as the research-based impact of natural light, visual and spatial environments that provide a balance of calm and high level of academic engagement, and acoustic engineering in creating optimal conditions for students to thrive both academically and socially.

This will be accompanied by larger classrooms to reduce density, and space for a project-based, future-driven curriculum that includes innovative entrepreneurial studies, visual and digital arts, theater, music, core academics, and space for imaginative play and the cultivation of big dreams.

5340 Alla Road: At A Glance

Vast, Dynamic Space.

Our new campus home totals 132,000 sq. ft., (moving from spaces totaling 66,000 sq. ft.), with 5 acres of outdoor space in the heart of Playa Vista.

A Stone's Throw from Current Campus.

Located just 600 feet from our current campus buildings, this new home allows us to remain one unified campus footprint, as we retain the Early Childhood Center and North Gym building at 12901 Coral Tree Place.

Meticulously Engineered for Optimal Learning Conditions.

Through partnering with architects, consultants, and designers, we are creating visual and spatial environments that provide a balance of calm and high level of academic engagement.

Big Energy. Big Outdoors.

The outdoor space will feature rich, varied landscape with ample play space, shade, opportunities for sports, as well as quieter places for students to read and socialize. Our plans include a state-of-the-art East End Athletic Complex with U10 soccer field, outdoor courts, long jump pit, and more.

A Village Built for Wonder, Play, and Discovery.

A dedicated DK and Kindergarten Village where our younger learners will call home. Classrooms and a dedicated outdoor space engineered with the developmental needs of young children in mind.

A Joyful Start in a Space Just for Them.

The Early Childhood Center will remain in it's current home, with more space to accommodate our preschool-age children.

The Journey to 5340 Alla Road: A Timeline

Timeline

2019-23

The Quest for Ownership

The journey to 5340 Alla Road began many years ago. We have long been seeking to own our campus buildings, knowing that doing so would ensure the financial stability of WNS for generations to come. This early phase focused on researching viable financing strategies and establishing a path toward long-term sustainability. It also marked the launch of our endowment—an investment in the future of our school, our mission, and the many students who will walk through our doors in the years ahead.

Securing the Dream

After years of searching, the perfect site revealed itself—just 600 meters from our current campus. More than a location, it is a place that reflects our mission, honors our values, and supports our vision for the future. Through thoughtful negotiation and close collaboration with financial advisors, we secured a $90 million bond, making the purchase possible and marking a transformational milestone on our journey to a permanent campus home.

2024-25

Laying the Groundwork

With the property secured, we turned our focus to shaping the future home of our school. We successfully secured the Conditional Use Permit (CUP), laying the regulatory foundation for our vision. In partnership with architects and planners, we began the thoughtful design of a campus that reflects our values, enhances the student experience, and supports innovative learning. This phase also included advancing key permitting processes to bring our vision one step closer to reality.

2025-26

Brick by Brick

With plans in place, we have entered the transformational phase of building our future. The site was cleared and construction began—bringing architectural vision to life from the ground up. From classroom interiors designed to foster curiosity and collaboration, to outdoor spaces that invite exploration and connection, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted. As we approach final inspections and the issuance of our Certificate of Occupancy, our long-envisioned campus home is rapidly becoming a reality.

The Future of WNS

As construction nears completion, we will turn our focus to bringing the campus to life. Detailed protocols are being developed to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition for students, families, and staff. Furniture and learning tools will arrive in the summer of 2026, transforming empty spaces into vibrant classrooms and community hubs. Soon, we will gather to dedicate and celebrate this extraordinary milestone—a moment years in the making, and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our school.

Secured Funds & Project Budget

The total projected cost for this transformative project is around $35M, which covers construction-related expenses for all essential renovations, including the creation of modern classrooms, flexible learning spaces, outdoor learning patios, and sustainable infrastructure, as well as the costs for the architects and contractors, needed to complete the building’s renovations.

We are pleased to report that we have already secured $32M—approximately 92% of the total project cost.

Now, we are raising the additional $3M to elevate our future campus home to the next level, and we're getting close. We've already raised $1.5M through grants and gifts from the WNS community.

The facilities listed on the adjacent pyramid are contingent on your support.

Help us complete this dream and let’s collectively elevate our school for your students and generations to come.

A Dream That Looks Like This

If we can raise the funds now, our children will benefit from these incredible features. This is it. This is embracing the dream.

With a collective lift the $2.5M goal is achievable, but it will only happen if we all join together and step up for this school that we love. This is what our collective commitment will enable:
